Axiom Space is building for beyond by operating Private Astronaut Missions to the International Space Station today, while developing its successor — Axiom Station, the world’s first commercial space station. Manufacturing in space represents the next frontier for innovation and potentially the next giant leap for solving industry challenges on Earth. Axiom Station’s access to microgravity could enable commercial-scale manufacturing of materials with fewer defects, more uniformity, and improved quality. This session will highlight Axiom Space and a panel of pioneers that are taking the first steps towards in-space production of biomedical and advanced material products. These foundational results provide opportunities for the development of a robust commercial space economy that has strong implications for advanced manufacturing on Earth.
