Dr. Maureen Reitman is a Principal Engineer and Vice President responsible for Polymer Science, Materials Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering and Sciences, and Health Sciences at Exponent. Exponent is a multidisciplinary engineering and scientific consulting firm with offices in North America, Asia and Europe.  

As a consultant at Exponent, Dr. Reitman helps clients create, evaluate, and improve products and processes in many industries, including life sciences, infrastructure, and consumer products. Her consulting addresses major aspects of the commercial product life cycle, such as materials selection, end-use testing, service life prediction, failure analysis, certification procedures and issues related to intellectual property, and involves work in partnership with suppliers, product developers, consumers, academic and government groups, attorneys, and standards organizations. As part of her formal leadership roles, Dr. Reitman focuses on identifying, creating and cultivating opportunities for business and staff growth based on technical innovation, operational excellence, and engaged, inclusive mentorship. Dr. Reitman previously worked in both product and technology development at 3M as a researcher, inventor and team leader.  

Dr. Reitman is a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers and has served the Medical Plastics Division in various leadership roles for over 15 years.
