Martinez, Andre

Martinez, Andre

Sr. Scientist at DSM Biomedical

Dr. Martinez was first introduced to polymers during his undergraduate studies at Williams College where he researched the impact of ligand structure on ATRP catalysts. In graduate school at the University of Connecticut, he joined the group of Prof. Douglas Adamson and focused on living and controlled polymerization techniques to synthesize well-defined architectures and study their self-assembly behavior. In post-doctoral studies at the University of Maryland’s, IBBR he synthesized polyphosphazenes and studied their potential application in the delivery of therapeutic proteins under the guidance of Prof. Alexander Andrianov. Since joining DSM, Dr. Martinez has had positions in the Analytical Research group and the TPU & Polymer Processing group where he is currently a scientist in a new product development role.
